Whats good y’all! Last month there was a bill drafted to introduce a swim lesson voucher program in the state of Florida. The bill is titled SB 544/581: Swimming Lesson Voucher Program, a proposal led by Senator Travis Hutson and Rep. Demi Busatta Cabrera. This program would offer vouchers to low income families with young children to receive swimming lessons. The goal of the program is to act as a preventative measure to help reduce the number of drownings within the state. If the bill passes, it will go into effect July 1, 2024.
